Made to Be Enjoyed

Product Care Guide

A little thoughtful care will help keep your NuzzleFox wooden product looking beautiful and ready to enjoy for years to come.

Caring for handmade wooden products

Wood is a natural material and responds to moisture, heat, sunlight and everyday handling. Following the guidance below will help protect the finish, shape and detail of your product.

General Cleaning

Gently wipe your product using a soft, clean cloth that is only slightly damp.

  • Dry the surface immediately after cleaning.
  • Use gentle pressure around engraved or raised details.
  • Remove dust using a soft, dry cloth or clean brush.
  • Clean small pieces individually where necessary.

What to Avoid

Harsh cleaning methods may damage the wood, paint, engraved details or protective finish.

  • Do not soak or submerge the product in water.
  • Do not place it in a dishwasher.
  • Do not use bleach, solvents or abrasive cleaners.
  • Do not scrub with rough sponges or scouring pads.

Water and Moisture

Excess moisture can cause natural wood to swell, warp, stain or lose its finish.

  • Keep the product away from sinks, baths and wet surfaces.
  • Wipe up spills immediately.
  • Do not leave damp cloths resting on the wood.
  • Store in a dry, well-ventilated place.

Heat and Sunlight

Prolonged heat or strong sunlight may affect the colour, shape or finish of wooden products.

  • Keep away from radiators and open fires.
  • Do not leave on hot window ledges.
  • Avoid prolonged direct sunlight.
  • Do not store in very hot or humid spaces.

Storage

Store your product indoors in a clean, dry place when it is not being used. Puzzle pieces and accessories should be kept together to reduce the risk of anything becoming lost or damaged.

Where possible, store flat rather than leaning the product at an angle for long periods. Avoid placing heavy objects on top of boards, puzzles or delicate pieces.

Caring for Puzzle Pieces and Tactile Details

Handle individual pieces carefully and avoid forcing them into spaces where they do not fit. Finger grooves, engraved lines, raised details and braille elements should be treated gently during use and cleaning.

After use, check that all pieces are present before storing the product. Small parts should always be kept away from younger children and pets.

Natural wood has its own character

Grain patterns, colouring, knots and markings naturally vary from one piece of wood to another. These differences are part of the material's character and mean that no two NuzzleFox products will look completely identical.

Natural variation is not usually a fault. Slight changes in appearance over time may also occur as the wood responds to light, air and normal use.

Regular Safety Checks

Products used by children or vulnerable users should be checked by a responsible adult before each use.

  • Check for cracks, splinters or sharp edges.
  • Check that raised or attached details remain secure.
  • Make sure no pieces are broken, missing or damaged.
  • Stop using the product immediately if any part becomes loose.
  • Follow the age guidance and safety information on the product page.

If Your Product Becomes Damaged

Stop using the product if it becomes cracked, splintered, broken or if an attached piece becomes loose.

Please contact us if the damage was present when the product arrived or you believe there may be a manufacturing fault. Include your order number, a description of the issue and clear photographs where possible.

Normal wear, accidental damage, water damage or damage caused by unsuitable cleaning or storage may not be considered a product fault. This does not affect your statutory consumer rights.
